Wilma Joy Dove

Wilma Joy Dove, 88, of Westernport passed away on September 25, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

Born April 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Guinn) Gales. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Pete” Dove; sister, Evelyn Preston; and brother, George “Ed” Gales.

Wilma was a 1953 graduate of Bruce High School. She was a member of the Westernport United Methodist Church. Wilma enjoyed playing Bingo and time with her friends at the George’s Creek Daycare when it was still in operation.

Wilma loved everyone, she was one of the most non-judgmental, kind hearted people anyone could ever meet. She was selfless, always putting others before herself. She will be deeply missed by her son, grandsons, sister and entire family.

Wilma is survived by her son, Harry Dove and wife, Michele; sister, Angie Burgess; grandsons, Jamie Dove and fiancée Katie, Joseph Dove and wife Charlotte, and Nicholas Harrison. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and several nieces and a nephew.

Friends will be received at the Westernport United Methodist Church, 430 Vine Street, Westernport on Friday, September 29^th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sandy Cowan officiating.

Interment will be at Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
