William Boyd “Hop” Hardesty, 72 passed away on February 25, 2021.
Born on October 3, 1948, he was the son of the late William and Frances (Riley) Hardesty. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Chester Hardesty.
Hop was a United States Army Veteran. He was a graduate of Valley High School. Hop enjoyed hunting and fishing, he loved his deer meat. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, he was a fan of Dale Earnhardt. He treasured his John Deere tractor and showing off his Chevy truck at car shows. Hop liked watching cowboy movies but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Hop is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Preston) Hardesty of Barton; his daughters, Michelle Crawford and husband, Chuck of Lonaconing, Julie Schloe and husband, Mike of Hagerstown and step daughter, Kristy Maynard and husband, Bill of Keyser. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hunter Crawford, Bryce Schloe, Jessica Maynard and Christopher Schloe; and his sisters, Gloria Collins and husband, Bill of Grantsville and Frances Warnick and husband Edward of Corriganville.
Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Monday, March 1, 2021 form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be at a later date at the Moon Cemetery, Deer Park
