William Sterling

William “Bill” Sterling, 71 of Westernport passed away on November 18, 2019 at his residence.

Born May 29, 1948, “in the field” at Franklin, he was the son of the late Raymond D. and Edith R. (Riggleman) Sterling. He is also preceded in death by his two nephews, Greg and Paul Gordon.

Bill was affectionately known to his friends and loved ones as “Buster”. He was a 1966 graduate of Bruce High School. Bill was a United States Air Force Veteran. Bill was previously employed as a welder at Bausch and Lomb and Simon Pearce. He loved to go hunting and fishing and enjoyed listening to country music.

Bill is survived by his siblings, Rose Pahle of Johnstown, PA; Raymond Sterling and his wife, Dottie of Westernport; and Tom Sterling and Cookie Weimer of Keyser, WV. He is also survived by one niece and several nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV
