Rawlings, MD
William Kenneth Machin, 84 of Rawlings passed away on December 9, 2013 at Heartland of Keyser Nursing Center.
Born September 14, 1929 in Franklin, he was the son of the late John and Birdie (Randall) Machin. He is preceded in death by his siblings; Emma Stemp, Ellsworth Machin, James “Hump” Machin, Thomas “Tucker” Machin, Gladys Raines, George Machin and Mary Metz. He is also preceded in death by an infant son, William Kenneth Machin Jr. and a granddaughter Wendy Machin.
Mr. Machin was a United States Navy Veteran, having served during the Korean War. Mr. Machin was retired from Westvaco. He was a member of the Independent Assembly of God Church, Fountain, WV. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar and other instruments. He also loved playing baseball. Mr. Machin was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and was always there to lend a helping hand.
He leaves behind his wife, Doris “Jackie” (Norris) Machin, of Rawlings; a son, Gary Machin and wife Carol of Rawlings; two grandsons, Gary Machin and wife Monica of LaVale, and John Machin and wife Jeana of South Carolina. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Megan Machin, Greg Morris, Heaven Morris, Travis Hammons and Katie Furlano.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Mike Goldizen officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
