Virginia Pearl (Wilson) Lee, 98, formerly of Swanton, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, in York, PA, at the home of her daughter, Pamela Myers.
Born March 23, 1914 in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Janie (Lockridge) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Lee, a daughter, Charolette Lee and a son, Charles R. Lee, five brothers, Clarence, Earl, Roy, Vernon and Forrest Wilson, three sisters, Madeline Duckworth, Gladys Shockey and Rose Starkey. Virginia was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
Throughout her long life Virginia had many interests. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved sewing, embroidering, baking, cooking, canning, picking berries and her flowers. She loved to go out to eat. She made wonderful dinners on Sunday for her family or anyone that came to her house. Her home was a home to anyone under her roof.
She leaves behind her three sons, Wesley and wife Brenda, Russell and wife Linda of Swanton, Albert and wife Marg of Keyser, WV, and eight daughters, Mary Summers of Grafton, WV, Lillian Sisk of Cumberland, Betty Jost and husband Jack of Fort Myers, FL, Shirley Bennett and husband Richard of New Creek, WV, Anna Heck of Smithsburg, Janet Brown and husband Upton of Smithsburg, Judy Heck and husband Butch of Waynesboro, PA, and Pamela Myers of York, PA. She also leaves behind forty four grandchildren, seventy three great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday, May 15th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 16th at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Donald Nelson officiating.
Interment will be in George Cemetery, Swanton.
