Twita Mae Brashear Ross, 89, of 19305 Railroad St, Barton, passed away Saturday December 10, 2011 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born March 24, 1922 in Cross, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Ethel (Sutton) DeShong. Her first husband in 1965, Allen Brashear, and her second husband in 1983, Edward Ross, three brothers, Melvin, Dale, and Harry DeShong JR, and two sisters, Mildred Derham and Juanita Duckworth, also preceded her in death.
Twita was a 1939 graduate of Bruce High School. She was homemaker and a member of Mill Run Grace Brethren Church.
She leaves behind one son, Roger Brashear and wife Carol of Myerstown, PA, two daughters, Janet Preston and husband Dale of Barton, Marian Shaffer and husband Bernie of Hyndman, PA, and a brother, Dwight DeShong of Lonaconing, six grandchildren, Carey Preston, Lonnie Preston, Doug Shaffer, Heidi Erdman, Adam Brashear, Karis Brashear, and five great grandchildren, Sarah Morgan, Corey Preston, Nicholas Preston, Ben Preston and Roy Conley. She is also survived by her step children, Helen, Edward JR, William, Charles, Edith, Sam, and Linda.
The family will receive friends at the Mill Run Grace Brethren Church, Mill Run, on Friday December 16th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM at the church, with Pastor Terry Campbell and Pastor Earl Trimble officiating.
Interment will be Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
