Thomas Edward Fahey, 87, of 421 Maryland Ave, Westernport, passed away Monday February 20, 2012 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born August 8, 1924 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Patrick H. and Mayme (Fallon) Fahey. A brother, Richard Fahey, and two sisters, Mary Marcelline Cosgrove and Ruth Eilbeck, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Fahey was a United States Army Veteran, having served as a Sergeant during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was retired from Westvaco Corp, with 40 years of service, where he last worked as a calendar operator. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Westernport, a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, and a member of Queens Point V.F.W. #6775, McCoole. Mr. Fahey was also an avid golfer.
He leaves behind his wife, “Bill” (Wortman) Fahey, a son, Terry Fahey and wife Kathy of Macon, GA, two grandchildren, Bethany Fahey, a student at Georgia State University, and Ashley Thomas and husband Dusty and their children, Griffin and Weylen.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, February 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church on Friday, February 24th at 11:00 AM, with Father Richard Gray as celebrant.
Interment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
