Shelva Jean “Judy” Evans, 84 of Barton died on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Moran Manor Nursing Home.
Born August 7, 1940, at her aunt’s home in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late James David Symons and Sarah Isabel (Crawford) Symons. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 37 years, Robert Lee “Bob” Evans; her daughter, Betty Jean Evans; and her three day old infant brother, Roger Lee Symons.
Judy was a 1958 graduate of Bruce High School. After graduation she and Bob were married on July 24, 1959 and started their lives together.
Judy was a stay-at-home Mom most of her life. Her greatest joy was caring for her husband and children. In later years, after the loss of her husband, she became a caregiver to an elderly lady. She also volunteered at the Barton Elementary School for several years.
Surviving are her children, Robert Lee “Pooh” Evans, Jr. and Bonnie Lou Centofonti and husband Peter John; her grandchildren, Robert Lee “Robbie” Evans III and wife Amanda, Shawni Marie Evans, and Ashley Renee Rotruck and husband Nick. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Trinity Evans, Adelynn Evans and Arya Peeling; and also, several cousins that she loved like a brother and sisters.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Moran Manor for the wonderful care and love they showed Judy in the four and a half years she lived there. She loved each and every one of them like family.
