Scott Thomas Brode

Scott Thomas Brode, 65, a resident of Morgantown, WV, originally from Westernport, MD passed away July 10, 2024 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Scott was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dottie Mac (Haywood) and Harry Lee Brode; his grandparents, Rosalie and Thomas Haywood; and a special aunt and uncle: Marilyn and Tom Malcom.

A friend of Scott’s briefly summed up his life with a Facebook post, “Scott never met a stranger and always left a person better than he found them, a big personality, spreading fun and love wherever he went. He cared about people on a larger scale than most. He was an adventurous spirit that truly lived life to the fullest every day. He is a lesson in life being too short and to always and all ways seize the day. He was a lover of animals, adventure, family and friends…Thank you for making this world a better place and touching the hearts of many.”

Scott is survived by his sister, Terri Friend and husband Mark of Oakland, MD; nephews, Jason Weaver of Oakland, MD and Shane Weaver of Morgantown, WV; a special niece that he was very proud of, Jayden Weaver; his close friend, Karen; and his companion, his cat, Mishka.

Scott’s family is especially grateful for his neighbor, Ashely, for always opening her heart and caring for his cat, Mishka.

 Scott wished to be cremated, there will be no services at this time.

We are certain Scott would want all his friends and family to celebrate a life well lived. Shine your magnificent light onto others and be adventurous in honor of this incredible human being.
