Rosemary “Tootie” (Francis) Tichnell, 79, of Keyser died on January 23, 2021 at her residence. She fought a very long three year battle with Leukemia.
Born February 3, 1941 in Westernport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lola Mary (Phillips) Francis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Willard Tichnell; daughter, Karen Bush; sisters Betty Simpson and Celinda “Cindy” Leatherman; brother, Gerald Francis; niece, Sharon Simpson; and great nephew, Bryan Simpson.
She retired from Automated Packaging with 30 years of service. Tootie loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible. She was a member of the Antioch Church of God. She enjoyed listening to music and reading. Tootie was a very proud Grand-Fur-Moma to a very special Yorkie that shared her namesake, “Tootsie”. She was a very strong, courageous woman with a heart of gold.
Surviving is her granddaughter, Ashley Preston and husband, Ebert of Portage, PA; two special nieces and caregivers, Kimberly and Rhonda Simpson of Keyser.; great niece and carehelper, Brianna Simpson, nephew Gerald Simpson of Ruther Glen, VA; brother-in-law, Norman Leatherman of Keyser; and several great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Friday, January 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 30th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Goldizen officiating.
Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Westernport.
