Ronald David Welch, 78, of Queens Point Road, McCoole, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV.

Born in Mineral County on April 17, 1939, he was the son of the late Elwood David and Irene (Kirk) Welch.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Lou Welch, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Domenick Earnest and Wilda Blanche Fazzalore.

Ron was the plant manager at the former Keyser Garment Factory for over 30 years.  He was also co-owner of The Gift Buggy, McCoole.  He was a member of the Keyser Moose, a member of the former Tri-Towns Lions Club where he was awarded Lion of the Year in 1983-84, and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Westernport.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary A. Welch, a daughter, Sherri Kalbaugh and husband Chuck of Westernport, a son David Welch and wife Sara and her daughter, Riley McFarland of Pittsboro, NC, his grandchildren, Amie Kalbaugh and partner Angie and daughter, Trina, Chuck Kalbaugh and companion Michelle Michael, Nick Welch and companion Christy Wilson, along with Nick’s mother, Debbie Welch.  Ron is also survived by his great grandson, Max Domenick Kalbaugh and his mother, Emily Metz and many other close relatives and friends.

At Ron’s request, he was cremated.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, June 2nd from 12 to 2 PM.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peters Catholic Church, Westernport on Friday, June 2nd at 3:00 PM, with Father Edward Hendricks as celebrant.

Inurnment will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV, at a later date.
