Robert “Bob” Russell Bosley, 67, of 206 North St, Bloomington, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born March 25, 1945 in Bloomington, he was the son of the late John D. and Edress Elizabeth (Elliott) Bosley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John W. Bosley, Donald Bosley, and two sisters, Ruth Cavey and Margaret “Sis” Paugh. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
Mr. Bosley was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a retired coal miner, with 30 years of mining. His last employer was Consol Mining. He was a member of Bloomington United Methodist Church, and a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he was a people watcher at Walmart and Martins as his wife Shirley shopped.
He leaves behind his wife, Shirley (Miller) Bosley, a son, Shane Bosley and wife Tina of Bloomington, three grandchildren, Kelsey and Jordan Bosley, and Kirstin Brashear, one great grandchild, Gabriella Jackson, three brother-in-laws, Dave Miller and wife Wilma of Barton, Paul Miller of Barton, and Jim Miller of Cumberland, and a sister-in-law, Doris Miller of Barton, and numerous nephews and nieces.
At Bob’s request, he was cremated.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Bloomington United Methodist Church on Friday, April 20th at 7:00 PM, with Rev. Gary Rankin officiating.
Inurnment will be in Bloomington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Bloomington United Methodist Church or the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
