Robert “Buffalo Bob” Hardman, 83, of Lower Georges Creek Road, Barton, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born November 13, 1931 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Blair Joseph and Martha Jane (Blubaugh) Hardman.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Blair Hardman Jr, Dorothy Morgan, Donna Cessna and Peggy Stokes.

Mr. Hardman was retired from Buffalo Coal Company, and was a self-employed farmer.  His lifelong passion was farming, cows, making hay and gardening.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Barton.

He leaves behind his wife, Ruby (Smith) Hardman, five children, Deborah A. Bittner of Frostburg, Robert Hardman Jr. and wife Kathy of Barton, Sam Hardman of Barton, Shirley Miller and husband Ray of Avilton and Terry Hardman and wife Vicki of Barton.  He is also survived by five brothers, Kenneth Hardman, Caroll Hardman, Lloyd Hardman and wife Evelyn, Royce Hardman and wife Margaret, Willis Hardman and wife Sandy, all of Cumberland, one sister, Judy Cessna and husband Dennis of Beans Cove, PA, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Thursday from 10 AM to 2 PM.  A funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Walter Lancaster officiating.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

Pallbearers will Nevin Bittner, Daniel Bittner, James Hardman, Billy Brashear, Brian Marsh, and Robert Bolden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Western Maryland Health Systems Hospice, Cumberland, MD.
