Phyllis Helane (Henry) Deniker, 87, of Rawlings passed away on September 10, 2024.
Born December 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Brown and Adrian (Fisher) Henry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth “Ding” Deniker; and her brother, Brown “Ted” Henry.
Phyllis was a faithful member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Westernport. She was actively involved at St. Peter’s School, she volunteered with school lunches, she was a PTA Secretary, and prepared and served Parish dinners. Phyllis was a 1955 graduate of Bruce High School and then went on to work in the Westvaco lab for 17 years. Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her family, camping, she was an avid Nascar fan and loved to roller skate. Phyllis was selfless and compassionate and would lend a helping hand to anyone, or animal, in need. Her kind spirit will be greatly missed.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Michael Deniker; her daughter, Catherine Deniker; special granddaughter, Candace Lowery; sister, Martha McConnell and husband Pat; niece, Tracy Wilson and husband Aaron; nephews, Jeff Miller and significant other Meredith Meck, Chris Miller and wife Crystal, great nieces and nephews, Jeremy Miller and wife Casey, Aaron Miller, Abbey Wilson, Keegan Miller, Jacob Wilson, Grace Wilson, Kyler Miller, Remington Miller; and great-great niece, Brynn Miller. Phyllis is survived by her brothers-in-law, John Deniker and wife Shirley, and Carl Donald; niece Debbie Murphy McKenzie; nephews Wayne Murphy, Jeff Deniker, John Deniker, and Jerry Donald; special cousins Jenny Walker, Betty Rizer, Jerry Ferguson, Betty Beavers; and special friends, Mei Rhodes and Haoyu Wang. She is also survived by her step grandchildren, Kylie Cussins, Michael Cussins, Sierra Lambert and Sara Lowery and great grandchild Braxton Carpenter. Phyllis was surrounded by many other family members and close friends that loved her dearly.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Sunday, September 15th from 12 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Divine Mercy Parish St. Peter Catholic Church on Monday, September 16th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Scott Kady as Celebrant.
Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery, Westernport.
