Paul Robert “Bob” Shook, 81 of Keyser passed away on February 16, 2025, at his residence.
Born June 4, 1943, he was the son of the late Paul Rexford and Mary Katherine (Warnick) Shook. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Catherine, and Harry Harshbarger.
Bob was a proud United States Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam. He started his career at Kelly Springfield Tire Company and retired from Westvaco, having served as a maintenance supervisor for both companies. At one time Bob was very active in the Keyser Jaycees, serving as Region 7 Vice President served. He was once a member of the Mineral County Board of Education and was elected President for two terms.
Bob was an avid bowler and competed in numerous National Bowling Association tournaments across the US. He developed the Keyser area youth bowling league and was the first and only bowling coach at Bruce High School. He was instrumental in the formation Keyser Youth Football. He coached the Keyser High School softball and ladies basketball teams and will forever be known as the historian for the latter. Bob was integral in the construction of the current Keyser High School sports complex and athletic fields.
Bob was an avid fan of football and all WVU athletics. He was a prolific fantasy football team manager.
Bob is survived by his wife, Becky (Harshbarger) Shook; daughter, Stacey Shook; sisters, Jean Braithwaite, and Judy Shrout and husband Dave; a special cousin, Tom Fields; adopted granddaughter, Elena Streets-Buchina; sister-in-law, Carolyn Jett and husband, Bob; and brothers-in-law, Rick Harshbarger and wife Christa, and John Harshbarger. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including special great nieces and nephews, Morgan Gustafson, Wesley Harshbarger, and Alleigh Harshbarger.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, February 20th from 4 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.
Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Westernport.
