Mary Kathryn Symons, 90, of Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the nursing center.

Born, Feb, 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Blizzard and Saide and Howard Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Symons; brothers, Fred Green, Ervin Blizzard, Junior Blizzard, Carl Blizzard, James Blizzard; and one sister, Inez Hall.

She was and inspiration to all, a devoted Christian lady, and a member of Stoney Run Baptist Church. To many she will be remembered, playing her guitar and singing in church. Many times singing with no music. She loved the Lord and we know Heaven just received the most beautiful angel in the world.

She leaves behing her children, Ronald Symons and wife Sandy of Rawlings, Ruby Broadwater of Westernport, Patricia Baer and husband Bill of Oakland, Margaret Miller of Texas, Sandi Gank and husband Dayton of Terra Alta, W.Va., Susan Watson and husband Fred of Piedmont, W.Va., Joe Symons Jr. of Westernport, and Deven Symaons and wife Rhonda of Westernport. She is also survived by her brothers, Joes Green and wife Teresa of Baltimore, Paul Green and wife Mary Louise of McCoole; her sisters, Frances Green of Baltimore, Betty Blackburn of Springfield, W.Va., Shirley McGough of Baltimore; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a very special granddaughter, whom she raised and called her sunshine, Destiney Critchley and husband Jeremy of Danese, W.Va.; and a very special daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Symons of Vale Summit.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM

A funeral service will be conducted at Stoney Run Baptist Church, Westernport, on Sunday at 2 PM with the Rev. Gary Morris officiating.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetry, Moscow Mills.

The family extends a special Thank You to the staff at Moran Manor Nursing Center and Western Maryland Health System for the care and compassion given to Mary during her stays there.
