Marlene Ann (MacDonald) Kessel, 65 of Keyser and previously Barton, MD passed away on May 7, 2022.
Born March 13, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Mary (Winters) MacDonald and Joseph and Wilhelmina (Metz) Mancuso. She was also preceded in death by the fathers of her children, Michael Galbraith, Sr. and Richard “Tricky” Kessel.
Marlene grew up in Barton, Maryland. She once attended the Barton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Barton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, as well as the Keyser Moose. She was a beautician, cleaned for numerous families and previously tended bar at Truly’s Bar, the Midland Fire Hall and the Barton American Legion.
Marlene was a supportive, loving Mom. Her grandchildren were her whole world. She was adored by many and she will be missed by many.
Marlene is survived by her children, Michael Galbraith, Jr., Melissa Galbraith and Samantha Kessel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jordyn Hanlin, Johnathyn Hanlin and Jamyson Hanlin; her siblings, Rhonda Mancuso-Orlando, Pam Mancuso, Joe Mancuso, Jr., Jimmy Mancuso and Anthony Mancuso and husband, Peter Baumnn. Marlene is survived by her special sister-in-law, Melonee Gilchrist; special friend Michele Wolf-Dove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Friday, May 13th from 6 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, May 14th at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert “Jack” Harrison officiating. There will also be a one hour visitation prior to the service at 12 noon.
