Malverda Lee Metcalf, 97 of Westernport, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Piney Valley, Keyser WV.

Born June 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George and Nettie (Tasker) Kidwell. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carl Metcalf. She is also preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Metcalf was a member of the Westernport Church of the Brethren. She was a Deacon of the church, she also taught Sunday school and was a member of the volunteer bible class. She once worked at the Celanese factory, Coffman Fishers, GC Murphy, the HP Store and the Tri-Towns nursery. Mrs. Metcalf enjoyed sewing, playing cards and crafting. She loved spending time with her treasured family. Mrs. Metcalf left a note with her family, “We have all had a few rough times but all together it has been a wonderful life, we have always been a close family.”

She leaves behind her two daughters, Joyce McKinney of Keyser, WV and Janice Krieger and husband Pete of Keyser, WV. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Linnea Martin and husband Greg, Amy Wilson and husband Justin and Barbara Tinsman and husband Brian; her great grandchildren, Skylar Smith, Adalynn Wilson, Ethan Martin and baby Tinsman on the way; a brother-in-law John Clayton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, January 15, 2015 from 3 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Diane May and Rev. Bill Shimer officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
