Mable A. (Fraley) Cowatch, 90, of Westernport, MD, died Monday, August 20, 2012, at Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, MD.

Born September 6, 1921 in Keyser, W.Va., Mrs.Cowatch was the daughter of the late Claud R. Fraley and Bessie (Huffman) Fraley.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Michael D. Cowatch, a son, Michael S. Cowatch, three brothers, Howard Fraley, Homer Fraley, Claud (Buddy) Fraley, and four sisters, Virginia Myers, Catherine Beeman, Elsie Reeves, and Mildred Bucklew.  Mrs. Cowatch was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A homemaker, Mrs. Cowatch was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church and The Catholic Daughters of America. She was a dedicated mother and care giver to her disabled son, Michael, for 65 years. Mrs. Cowatch volunteered many years for several charity organizations. She is survived by three daughters, Dolores A. Jones and husband Bob, Sr., Sarasota Fla., Dorothy J. Taylor and husband Jim, Westernport, MD, and Carol L. Clark, Sarasota, Fla., and one son, Joseph M. Cowatch and wife, Marie, Woodbine, Ga.; her grandchildren, Bob Jones, Jr., Annette Clark, Jeannie Cubbage, Jim Taylor, Nancy Sutton,  Barbara Pentecost, Stephanie Smith and Becky Cowatch; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and her special nephew Jerry Fraley.

Pallbearers will be Jim Taylor, Chris Rumer, Randy Cubbage, Joe Clark, Jon Keeling, and Tim Hewlin.

Friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, P.A., 111 Church Street, Westernport, MD on Thursday, August 23, 2012  from 2.to 4  and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, August 24, 2012, at 11 a.m.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Egle Nursing Home for the care given to their mother.

Interment will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, family request contributions may be sent to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Westernport.
