Leslie Troxell “Ike” Warnick, 77, of 41 Main St, Lonaconing, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing.
Born April 25, 1935 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Troxel N. and Annie Laura (Broadwater) Warnick Smith. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Roy, Harry and Ellis Warnick and four sisters, Leona Shockey, Bernadine Moffatt, Freda Rogers and Hazel Mason.
Leslie was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He retired from the Keyser Garment Company, Keyser, WV. He was a member of Barton United Methodist Church, the Barton American Legion Post #189, and a member of Georges Creek Valley Lodge #161 AF and AM.
Leslie leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Rae (Gilfillan) Warnick, two daughters, Karen Diehl and husband Darren of Cumberland, Linda Wolodkin and husband Mark of Cumberland, two brothers, Bernard Warnick of Mt. Zion, IL, and Donald “Romeo” Warnick of Pontiac, MI. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Austin, Caleb and Daniel Diehl, and Gina and Josh Wolodkin, and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Troxell Warnick.
Family and friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Chapel, on Monday at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Sandy Cowan and Rev. John Park officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
Pallbearers will be Ellis, Troxell, and Adam Warnick, Billy Weimer, Darren Diehl and Mark Wolodkin.
