Katherine Shingler, 89, formerly of Creekside Drive, Westernport, and most recently of Moran Manor Nursing Center, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV.
Born June 19, 1922 in Rawlings, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Nora Ruth (Lanam) Greco. Her husband, John Calvin Shingler, a son, Jeffrey A. Shingler, three sisters, Mary Greco, Marguerite Michaels and Carmela Klosterman, and three brothers, John, Frank, and Larry Greco, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Shingler was catholic by faith. She was a homemaker.
She leaves behind a brother, Domenick Greco and wife Sue of Keyser, WV, a sister, Rena Barclay and husband Paul of Westernport, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Leona Logsdon of Westernport, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
Interment will be Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
