Family was very important to him. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren - watching them play sports and dance, as well as attending many school functions. There was never a school function, concert, program or band competition that he missed for his daughters, despite working away from home. He was an avid sports fan - following the Washington Commanders, the Atlanta Braves and his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish - attending football games when he was able. He especially enjoyed going to South Bend with his daughter and granddaughter to see a Notre Dame football game.

A special thank you to his pulmonologist, Dr. Steven Karyia of Kensington, MD for his care and compassion of the past 14 years and to the ICU staff at Meritus Medical Center.
