John Kline, Sr.

Rawlings, MD

John George Kline, Sr., 85 of Rawlings, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021.

Born September 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Jennings and Lucy (Mackley) Kline.  He was also preceded in death by the lady who raised him, Cora Jane Sowers, his wife, Elizabeth (Riggleman) Kline, his daughter, Beverly Kline Didawick, and his sister, Frances Clark.

John retired from Westvaco having worked as a boiler operator. John’s hobby was tending to his farm. Although it was his hobby, he was passionate about farming- there was no sleeping in on the weekends.

John is survived by his two sons, Jerry Kline and wife Barbara of Rawlings, John Kline Jr. and wife Tina of Hyndman, PA, a daughter, Christa VanPelt and husband Herby of Rawlings, seven grandchildren, Tammy Miller, John VanPelt, Jerry Kline Jr., Kathryn Kline, Brittany Kline, Chad Shuck and Candace Montgomery.  He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Kline and several great grandchildren

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday, August 31st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike McGowan officiating.

Interment will be in Dawson Cemetery, Rawlings.
