Jerry Thomas Mills, 74, of 279 Gemanell Ave, Bloomington, passed away Wednesday December 7, 2011 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born September 23, 1937 in Luke, he was the son of the late James Holland and Rosa Catherine (Funkhouser) Mills. A brother, James Lawson “Snake” Mills, also preceded him in death.
Jerry was a 1955 graduate of Bruce High School, and was a United States Naval Veteran. He retired from Westvaco Corp, having worked as a Trimmer Operator in the Quality Control Department. He was a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3518, Keyser, WV.
He leaves behind his wife, Louise “Kitty” (Pattison) Mills, a son, Eric Mills and wife Cindy of Keyser, WV, a daughter, Stacey Marsh and husband Troy of Marietta, GA, and two grandchildren, Logan Mills and Ryan Marsh.
At Jerry’s request he was cremated.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM and 1 PM, with a memorial service to follow on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Rev. Gary Rankin officiating.
