Jerry Loar

Barton, MD

Jerry Eugene Loar, 69 of Barton passed away on July 25, 2021.

Born January 19, 1952, he was the son of the late Wesley Eugene and Helen Marie (Russell) Loar.

Jerry was a graduate of Valley High School. He loved working with computers and was once a computer programmer. Jerry also worked for CSX. In his spare time, he was an avid railfan. Jerry loved to watch and document trains from all over the country. It was his true passion through life.

Jerry is survived by his son, Steven Loar of Dunnellon, FL; his grandchildren, Dallas Loar and Bryson Loar of Dunnellon, FL; his brothers, David Loar of Lonaconing and Ronnie Loar of Barton. He is also survived by his nieces, Cheryl Loar of Greenville, NC and Jeannie Loar of Pittsburgh, PA; and his good friend who was like a brother, David Llewellyn.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Friday, July 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 31st at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
