James Ervin “Jim” Walker, 72, formerly of McCoole, passed away on July 22, 2017 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born January 17, 1945, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ada (Miller) Walker. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Joann Walker and a sister, Virginia (Walker) Staggs.
Jim was a 1963 graduate of Keyser High School. He was a Cowboys and a Nascar fan. Jim loved to drive Fords, especially his 1958 red Ford truck. He was previously employed with Weese’s Appliance and TV, Browns TV and Radio and Cumberland Electric. Jim was a family man, and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Vicki Haggerty and husband, Bobby of Keymont, WV, Stacy Miller and husband, Gary of Piedmont, WV and Dwayne Walker of Winchester, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jenna Pase, Joey Pase, Lilly Walker, Brittany Miller, Justin Miller; and his siblings, Dan Walker and wife, Darlene of Burlington, WV, Harry Walker and wife, Gloria of Westernport, Carol Thompson and husband, Carl of Burlington, WV, and Bill Walker and wife, Debbie of Keyser, WV. Jim is survived by his step children, Barb Porter of Frostburg, Susan Curry of FL, Gary Smith of FL and several step grandchildren. He is also survived by a special dog, Pep.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday, July 25th from 6 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 10:00 am. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service from 9 to 10 am.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
