James W. Reeves Sr., 92, of Westernport Road, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015.
Born July 9, 1922, he was the son of the late Harry V. Reeves Sr. and Mae Catherine Reeves and step mother, Marie A. Reeves. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Harold and Harry Reeves, step brother, Duke Mullan and step sister, Margaret Morgan.
Mr. Reeves was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, having served in the Para Marines and participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima, where he received the Purple Heart for wounds suffered in combat. He was the owner-operator of Reeves Motor Company, Westernport, for 80 years.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, June (Mullan) Reeves, a brother, Richard Reeves, his children, Terry Michael and husband Nelson, Cindy Gay and husband Bob, James W. Reeves Jr., and Amy Spiker and husband Scott. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steve, Dan, and Brian Michael, Greg and Christopher Gay, A.J. and Kaitlyn Reeves, Jacob and Caleb Spiker, his great grandchildren, Oliver and Freya Michael, and a step brother, John Mullan.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
