James Leo Davis, 81, of McMullen Highway, Rawlings, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.
Born February 13, 1937 in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Edward Leo and Mary (Beaver) Davis.
Jim was a 1955 graduate of Bruce High School, where he excelled in basketball. He also attended Potomac State College. He retired from Westvaco Corporation with 43 years of service, having been a machinist. While working at Westvaco he invented several items for the company to make the paper machines run more efficiently and also served as Chaplain for many years at Westvaco. Jim was a family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography. He was a member of Danville Community Baptist Church, where he was an Elder and former Sunday school teacher. He also taught Evangelism at several other churches.
He leaves behind his wife, Marian (Buser) Davis, his children, Twila Rotruck (Thomas) of Keyser, WV, James Davis Jr. (Eileen) of Thurmont, MD, Timothy Davis of Rawlings, Jeffrey Davis (Monica) of Martinsburg, WV, and Janie Davis of Rawlings. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tommy Rotruck (Matraca), James Davis III (Gwen), Matthew Davis (Nicole), Kaysi Matherly and Kaylee Davis, his great grandchildren, Alaina, Bella, Karena, Lily, Alexis, Jacobe, Johnny, Madison, Landon and Copelynn.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Danville Community Baptist Church, on Saturday at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Frank Pilcher and Rev. Ron Murphy officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
