Jack Dayton Snyder, 83 of Westernport, passed away on January 5, 2025.
Born December 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Darrell and Bonnie (Dayton) Snyder. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Guy and Emma Snyder; his wife, the love of his life, Betty (Sutherland) Snyder; and his brother, Robert “Percy” Snyder.
Jack was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War era. He also served in the West Virginia Air National Guard. Jack was a member of the American Legion Victory Post 155, the Air Force Sgts. Association, a life member of the VFW, and a life member of the NRA. He was also a member of the MD Sate Rifle and Pistol Association, the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Association, the Upper Potomac Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Mill Creek Country Club.
Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed crossword puzzles. He loved spending his winters in Florida.
Jack is survived by his children, Jack M. Snyder and Mary Beth Mayles; and step daughters, Kathy Paugh, and Karen Paugh and husband Charlie. He is survived by his grandchildren, JR Mayles, Jason Mayles, Kista Paugh, Marcy Swift, Jerry Paugh, Tyler Paugh and Joshua Paugh; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Friday, January 10th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 11th at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be at Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
