Barton, MD
Grant O’Dell Glotfelty, 92, of Legislative Road, Barton, went home to be with his family on December 31, 2013.
Born on August 3, 1921, he was the son of the late James Arthur Garfield Glotfelty and Nora (Turney) Glotfelty. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Wilhelmina Glotfelty, his brothers, Edward Glotfelty, Roy Glotfelty, Robert Glotfelty and Homer Glotfelty, and his sisters Helen Speicher and Margaret Bowman.
Mr. Glotfelty was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of the Barton Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Barton American Legion #189, Barton Lodge #94 I.O.O.F, the Alvin C. Neat VFW, Lonaconing and also the Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his daughter, Lea Ann Martin, Cumberland; granddaughters, Breanna Brown, Cumberland and Melanie Martin, Lonaconing; great-grandsons, Ayden Gabriel Brown and Caius Blair Bennett; a sister, Iva Knotts, Crellin; and a special son-in-law, Brett Martin.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Friday from 6 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Barton Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Wright officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
