Goldie Tichnell

Goldie Catherine (Flanagan) Tichnell passed away quietly on February 21, 2023.

Born April 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Edith (Harman) Flanagan. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret and Lena and her brother, William.

Goldie worked for 30 years as a custodian at Westernport Elementary School. She was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Rawlings United Methodist Church, which she attended regularly.

Goldie was kind, gentle, strong, and a devoted mother whose love was unconditional. She loved life, spending time with friends and family, gardening and road trips.

She leaves behind her son, Marty and his wife Janis; her daughter, Gloria and her husband Joseph; four grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.; two great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Tuesday, February 28th from 4 to 7 p.m.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Merle Correll officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 noon.

Interment will be at Tichnell Cemetery, Swanton.
