Glenn A. Harvey, 76, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Potomac Valley Hospital.
Born February 2, 1936 in Luke, MD, he was the son of the late Victor and Clara Harvey. He is preceded in death by his brother Harry (Red) Harvey and an infant sister.
Glenn is a 1954 graduate of Bruce High School. He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He was retired from Westvaco where he worked as an Instrument Technician. Glenn was a member of the Piedmont Presbyterian Church. He was a Deacon Elder, Sunday School Superintendant and served on numerous committees. He served on the Board of Directors for WEPCO Federal Credit Union for 17 years. He was a member of Luke Local 676, holding the office of the Vice President for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 155 and also the Bloomington Volunteer Fire Company.
Glenn is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Kathryn (Broadwater) Harvey; Two children, Bill Harvey & Liza, Newport News, VA and Glynna Harbaugh & Shawn, Bloomington; five Grandchildren; Brent Harbaugh & Kari, Brittany Chojar & Ritik, Jason Harvey & May, Daniel Harvey and Kathryn Harvey; a great-grandson Kahlan Chojar; two sisters, Alice Warnick and Pat Mantone; a brother Victor Harvey; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Friday, May 11th from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 12th at 10:30 AM with Rev. Phillip Summer officiating.
A private family interment will be in Grantsville Cemetery, Grantsville.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Robert Bess, Dr. Schroff and the staff of the Potomac Valley Hospital ICU for their care and compassion.
