Fred William Knisley Jr., 63, of Piedmont passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA.
Born August 11, 1949 in Keyser, he was the son of the late Fred William Knisley Sr. and Betty (Brashear) Knisley Jose.
He was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a hard working man having been a heavy equipment operator along with carpentry on the side. He was a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, MD, a member of the Kelly Mansfield Post #52, Piedmont, and a member of Blackhawk Tribe #131 I.O.R.M. Westernport, MD. In his spare time he enjoyed socializing with his club friends and spending time with his beautiful granddaughter, Summer Rose. Fred was extremely loving, caring and loved helping others, but most importantly he was proud of his children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind his children, Melody Knisley and her daughter, Summer Rose Knisley, Robert Knisley and his children, Wesley, Timothy and Autumn Knisley. He is also survived by his siblings, John Jose and wife Kathy of Inwood, Andrew “Jake” Jose and wife Carolyn of New Creek, Ginger Brashear of Keyser, Connie McKenery and husband Richard “Dick” of Romney, and many other uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends and family will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD on Friday from 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Funeral Home chapel on Saturday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating.
Interment will be in Miller Cemetery, Stoney Run, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Boal Funeral Home, 111 Church Street, Westernport, MD 21562 in order to defray funeral expenses. Food donations maybe made to the Blackhawk Redmen Club, Westernport, MD, where family and friends will gather after the funeral.
