Ervin Preston

Ervin Lonnison Preston, 83 of Barton passed away on March 5, 2022 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Born November 11, 1938, he was the son of the late Alfred and Eva (Miller) Preston. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, June Joann (Allen) Preston; and a granddaughter, Brittany Paton.

In his younger years, Ervin enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers. He loved working the land, he was a farmer, gardener and enjoyed bailing hay in Savage. Ervin was a man of many talents, he had the ability to build homes, grow delicious tomatoes and create drawings that his family loved.

Ervin was Christian by faith and had a relationship with God. He was a family man and he dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

Ervin is survived by his wife, Helen Preston; his children, Ervin Preston, Jr. and wife, Linda of Barton, Gale Fazenbaker and husband, Vernon of Barton, James Lilly and wife Laurie of Virginia, Jean Fisher and husband, Lee of Westernport and Faith Crowe of Barton. He is also survived by his siblings, Dale Preston and wife, Mary Lou of Barton, Robert Preston and wife, June of Barton, Geraldine Hardesty of Barton, Charles Preston and wife, Debbie of Barton, William Preston and wife, Debbie of Barton and Kathy Hamilton of West Virginia. Ervin is survived by twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his special friend, Rodney Morgan.

Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Tuesday, March 8th from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. with Pastor David Schoch officiating.

Those who would like to attend the graveside service at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV on Wednesday, March 9th can meet at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton at 9 a.m. for the procession to the cemetery.
