Elwood Francis Riggleman, 92, of Pekin Street, Lonaconing, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born February 9, 1920 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Bernard and Delia (Norris) Riggleman. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin, Clarence, Raymond, William and Louis Riggleman and his sisters, Viola Kenner, Myrtle Riggleman, Hilda Haggerty and Helen Riggleman.
Elwood was retired as a heavy equipment operator after 46 years from the Operating and Engineers Local 37. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and a bus driver. Elwood enjoyed to rabbit hunt and he also liked to take his camper on camping trips.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Edna Mae (Matthews) Riggleman, Lonaconing; sisters, Ruby Leinger, Lebanon, PA, Thelma Miller, Keyser, WV, Edith Sterling, Westernport and Gladys Potts, Little Orleans; many nieces and nephews; and a special cousin John Duckworth and wife Retha.
Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Barton on Tuesday, June 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 13th at 1:00 PM with Rev. Robert Whitecotton officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale
