Elvira Marie Amoruso, 93, of Piedmont passed away on January 30, 2024.
Born August 10, 1930 in Luke, MD, she was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Louise (Chucci) Camplesi. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Amoruso, Sr.; son, Samuel “Rick” Amoruso, Jr; brother, Luigi Camplesi; great granddaughter Bryn Amoruso and grandson Donovan Amoruso.
Elvira was a 1948 graduate of Bruce High School. She retired from Westvaco after 43 years. She worked in the lab, the maintenance department and the number 8 and 9 paper machines.
Elvira truly loved Piedmont and living in the Orchard. She spent many days sitting on her porch and talking with family and friends. Elvira had a true passion for dancing and could clear a dance floor. She enjoyed helping both Mary Beth and Karen Amoroso at the Piedmont Pool. Elvira was a caregiver for many of her loved ones over the years.
Elvira was the matriarch of the Amoruso family, she loved all of her family unconditionally and never wavered from that, no matter what the circumstance was. She was one of the most selfless people on earth. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones, friends and the community.
Elvira is survived by her children, Joe Amoruso and wife Denise, and Jack Amoruso and wife Amber; grandchildren, Matthew Amoruso, Sammy Amoruso, John Amoruso, Amber Myers, Samuel Amoruso, Vito Amoruso, Chance Neff, Jojo Amoruso, Tiffany Zembower, Christopher Amoruso, Tai Pope, and Anthony Amoruso. Elvira is also survived by her brother, Armando “Monk” Camplesi and wife Vicky; sister, Elgerina Kazlo; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Church - Divine Mercy Parish on Saturday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Elvira’s wonderful caregivers Debbie, Kristine, Amy, Shelly, Mashawn, Mirna and Nicole.
