Christopher John Wigington, 33, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015.
Born March 17, 1981 in Sumter, SC, he was the son of John Craig and Roxanne (Bean) Wigington of Mechanicsville.
Chris had previously worked at Martin’s and as a carpenter with his father. He loved following his favorite sports teams, the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. He enjoyed fishing, and camping with his daughter. He was also a fitness enthusiast and enjoyed exercising. In his earlier years he loved riding BMX dirt bikes. He was Catholic by faith.
In addition to his parents, John and Roxanne he leaves behind his wife, Julia (Nixon) Wigington, a daughter, Caylee Wigington at home, a step daughter, Alexis Nixon at home, a sister, Jill Brooke and husband Jeff of Mechanicsville, his maternal grandparents, John and Ginger Bean of Barton, his paternal grandmother, Ann Wigington of Frederick. He is also survived by his uncles, John Bean, Greg Bean and wife Robin, Brian Bean and wife Mary, aunts, Barbara Lewis and husband Jim, Janet Wilcox, his niece and nephews, Haley, Gregory and Joseph, who lovingly called him “Yea Yea”.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Wednesday, February 4th from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Barton, on Thursday, February 5th at 11:00 AM, with Father Edward Hendricks as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Barton.
