Charmaine Neva Pritts, 61, of Hartmansville, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at her home.

Born October 24, 1952 at Elk Garden, WV, she was the daughter of the late Foster and Beulah (Canon) Paugh.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Paugh and her father-in-law, Kenneth F. Pritts.

Mrs. Pritts was retired as a teacher and reading specialist with the Mineral County Board of Education with 25 years of service at Elk Garden and New Creek Schools.  She received her Bachelors Degree in elementary education from Shepherd College and received her Master’s Degree as a reading specialist from West Virginia University.

“Grammy”, as she was known to her grandchildren, who were her love and joy, enjoyed music, traveling, and entertaining friends and family.

She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, James Pritts, a son, Tom Pritts and wife Laura of Rawlings, MD, two daughters, Julie Harbert and husband Marc of Morgantown, WV, Katie Wegman and husband Ryan of Wilmington, NC, three grandchildren, Neva, Brant, Liam, and a greatly anticipated grandson on the way, and a mother-in-law, Marian (Farris) Pritts of Keyser, WV.  She is also survived by four brothers, Robert and the late Virgie Paugh of Baltimore, MD, George and Mary Paugh of Brush, CO, Roger Paugh of Keyser, WV, Louie and Judy Paugh of Harmon, WV, four sisters, Naomi and the late Arnold Slaughbaugh, Alma and the late Charles Sabota, Emma and the late Chaz Shupp, all of Baltimore, MD, and Tillie and Roy Jones of Elk Garden, WV.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 AM, with special friend Mark Reed officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Elk Garden or New Creek Schools.
