Carl S. Duckworth Sr., 87, of 118 Main St, Westernport, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his residence.

Born March 10, 1925 in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Ira and Lula (Derflinger) Duckworth.  He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Wilson, three brothers, Russell, Charles, and Clifton Duckworth and two sisters, Mildred Winters, and Dorothy Fazenbaker.

Mr. Duckworth was a United States Naval Veteran, having served during World War II.  He retired from Westvaco Corp, having worked in the wood yard.  He was a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport.  Carl enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife, Myrtle (Wilt) Duckworth, two sons, Carl Duckworth Jr. and wife Jeannie of Westernport, Mike Duckworth and wife Editha of Keyser, WV, one daughter, Lucy Duckworth of Virginia, and one sister, Mona Smith of Martinsburg, WV.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Harriett Duckworth, Cara Banner and husband Jeff, Chip Wilson and girlfriend Megan Rooney, Michael Duckworth and wife Julianne, Cassie Miller, Joed and Levi Duckworth, and nine great grandchildren, Emma Banner, Kelsey Wilson, Cannan, Corbyn, and Caleb Duckworth, Elias Bryant, Reese Aldridge, and Joshua and Carly Miller.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, with Betty Hammond officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
