Beverly J (White) Davis

September 7, 1946 – October 21, 2024

Beverly J (White) Davis, 78, passed away peacefully Monday October 21st 2024 in Barberton, OH. By her side was her devoted niece Kelli (White) Braithwaite who has been her caregiver the last 10 years.

Beverly was born September 7th 1946 in Keyser, WV. She was the daughter of the (late) Melvile White and the (late) Dessie (White) Johnson. Survived by her brother Dorsey White (VA), nieces Kim White (Keyser) and Kelli (White) Braithwaite (Tim) of Marco Island, FL. Along with great nieces Nicole White (Baltimore), Emilli Overly (Taylor) of Lusby,MD, and great nephew Grant Braithwaite (Morgantown, WV). Bev had two step children, Laura Calleson (Mike) and Alan Davis (OH). She was preceded in death by her husband Father William Davis, sister Anita (White) Johnson and nephew Scott McIntyre.

Bev graduated from Bruce High School in Westernport, MD in 1964. During her time at Bruce, she was a member of the school chorus and her talent in playing the piano provided the opportunity to be the pianist for there as well. She attended Frostburg State after graduation.

She started her career 1971 at Westernport Elementary School as a teachers aide mainly in Kindergarten. The holidays were much loved by her, she shared her passion with her students by doing activities, along with the pianist for WES programs and assemblies.

Bev had mastered playing the pipe organ, along with the piano. She shared her talents with the Methodist Church in Piedmont, WV and St James Episcopal Church in Westernport, MD by being their organist. She started in 1970 as the organist at the Methodist Church that led to her being recruited by Father Wilson to St James, where she became an active member of their congregation.

Bev and her (late) husband Bill moved to Keyser, WV after his retirement and she became an active member in the women’s group at Emmanuel Episcopal (ECW). She became program chairperson for many years in which she would spend many hours planning each program. They were outstanding!

Bev enjoyed many things during her life. One of her favorite things, was to dress up with her sister Anita for the holidays. They both enjoyed visiting local nursing homes and putting smiles on the residents faces.

Patriotic describes Bev. She cared deeply for our Veterans, schools, and churches. She put together programs to honor them.
