Westernport

Westernport, MD

Maxine Virginia Hart, 87, of Westernport and formerly of New Germany State Park, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2015.

Born September 25, 1927 at Gilmore, she was the daughter of the late Matthew Ellis Martin Sr., and the late Lula C. (Richardson) Martin.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Mack G. Hart, two sisters, Ida (Martin) Largent, Elizabeth P. Martin, and a brother, Matthew Ellis Martin Jr.

Maxine was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, a member of the Keyser Moose Lodge, a member of Queens Point V.F.W. #6775 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  Spring was Maxine’s favorite time of year, loving to watch her flowers come to bloom and to hear the birds singing.

She leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Milton G. Hart, her brother William Martin and wife Gloria of Grantsville, her granddaughter and running buddy, Renea Hart-Gaither and husband Danny of Westernport, and Maxine’s apple of her eye, great grandson, Mack.  She is also survived by a granddaughter, Casey Getz and husband Jason and great grandchildren, Kiersten and Savannah of Fort Ashby, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

Maxine was a very kind and loving person who had numerous friends and “adopted daughters”, Teresa S., Cathy K., Tonya S., and Cathy M.  Our family is grateful to all her friends and loved ones who were there for Maxine in her time of need.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday, March 30th from 11 AM to 1 PM.  A funeral service will follow the visitation on Monday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Otis Lancaster officiating.

Interment will be at Bloomington Cemetery, Bloomington.

Pallbearers will be Russell “Tarzan” Miller, Danny Gaither, Heath Martin, Jack Fazenbaker, Ernie Layman, and Paul Metz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Cancer Aid and Research Fund at the Queens Point V.F.W., McCoole.
